NORMAL makes files twice as large with a tiny bit less blockiness if you're looking closely at the files printed 3 feet (1m) wide. I prefer smaller files in exchange for almost invisible levels of blockiness. My D40 does about the same thing, but lacks the Optimize Quality JPG Compression mode I prefer on my D200, and its image sizes are one size smaller. It usually overexposes. This is why I prefer my D200, which has a superior meter because it rarely needs any fiddling. For most shots of moving things I fire several rounds and pick the one with the best expressions and gestures.I adjust the lowest shutter speed setting in the AUTO ISO menu if I change conditions or lenses. Unlike film, my D40 looks great at high ISOs, so I use themThe D40 has a much warmer color balance than earlier cameras like the D70 so I don't need the 81A filter or the -3 trim. See examples of different settings here and details on my WhiteIt's also personal preference. Use whatever looks right to you. My D40's LCD is very accurate. Usually that's the Direct Sun or Cloudy positions. These settings give much warmer results than earlier cameras. I rarely use the warmer Shade setting on my D40 while I used Shade often on my D1H and D70. I crave vivid color! I tweakIf it went to 11 I'd use that, too. When used with compatible flash units such as the optional SB-400, SB-800, and SB-600 Speedlights or SB-R200 wireless remote Speedlight, the D40 supports the advanced Nikon Creative Lighting System (CLS), including i-TTL flash control and Flash Color Information Communication. Before using a Nikon Speedlight not listed in this section, contact a Nikon-authorized service representative for more information. If the Speedlight supports the Creative Light- ing System, refer to the section on CLS-compatible digital SLR cameras.

The D40 is not included in the “digital SLR” category in the SB-80DX, SB-28DX, and SB-50DX manuals. Use the C-PL circular polarizing fil- ter instead. Nikon recommends that the camera be inspected by the original retailer or Nikon service representative once every one to two years, and that it be serviced once every three to five years (note that fees apply to these services). Nikon recommends that the filter be cleaned only by Nikon-authorized service personnel. To prevent the camera from powering off while the mirror is raised, use a full-charged battery or an optional EH-5 AC adapter and EP-5 AC adapter connector ( Remove the lens and turn the camera on. Together, these form the PRINCE2 6th Edition update and represent the first major revision of PRINCE2 since 2009. As ever, the focus is on what makes projects successful. This revised version of PRINCE2 affirms the method’s established approach to project management, with its overall structure of seven principles, themes and processes. The PRINCE2 2017 Update, which consolidates a wealth of knowledge gained in the workplace, can be trusted to provide practical, authoritative and relevant guidance to anyone managing a project in today’s environment. It reflects expert feedback from PRINCE2 practitioners who successfully apply the method in today’s dynamic working environment, where new technologies constantly change the game; customers and stakeholders continually raise their expectations; and where there is ever-growing pressure to achieve more with less. Practitioners holding a current certificate will not be required to recertify to the 6th Edition version, although we would highly recommend that they familiarize themselves with the new material. This can be best achieved through purchasing the new publication, or signing up to My PRINCE2. We would highly recommend downloading, reading or watching these pieces of content to get the latest information about the changes that were made to PRINCE2 in 2017. You can also read the thoughts of AXELOS' Mike Acaster on the reasons for the revisions.

Any other way and you run the risk that the machine which scans your paper may not read it properly and so you could fail. See the example below. At this point the invigilator will give you the question booklet. This will contain all of the 75 questions. You must write your candidate number on the front cover. This booklet may not leave the room, so if you go to the toilet during the exam, you must leave this booklet in the examination room. It must also be handed back to the invigilator at the end of the exam along with your answer sheet. For example, consider the following: Creating a product flow diagram iii. Designing the plan iv. Creating the product breakdown structure I suggest that you read each of the 4 options and tick the ones you are sure form part of the technique. If there are only 2 options you are sure about, at least you have reduced your last decision to a choice between the 2 remaining options, so pick one of them and then mark your answer paper accordingly. As the questions are compiled from a limited question bank, the more practice questions you attempt, the more prepared you will be. The PRINCE2 exam board provides 2 sample Foundation exam papers to PRINCE2 Accredited Training Organizations, so if you have studied using an accredited training course, these should be provided to you. Memorizing and reproducing these for yourself will further aid your understanding of PRINCE2, and ultimately improve your chances of exam success. The exam consists of 75 questions, and there are 60 minutes to answer them. This only allows 48 seconds per question. When faced with this small time frame, it’s best to have a good strategy during the exam which maximizes your chances of scoring highly. The strategy we recommend is the three pass approach. Mark your answer on the answer sheet and mark your question paper so show you have answered the question. Leave any questions you are unsure about.

It addresses each area of the Foundation syllabus: All the questions are contained within a question booklet. However 5 of these questions are “trial” questions and do not carry a mark. The remaining questions carry one mark each, so this means that there are 70 marks available on the whole exam paper. Be aware however, that the 5 trial questions are not highlighted as such. In fact they look like any other question, so you must try to answer all 75 questions. The exam is closed book, which means that you cannot take the manual or any other printed or electronic materials with you into the examination room. There are no trick questions on the exam paper and each question only has one correct answer. Your name will be printed on your certificate and the address you enter is the one where the certificate will be sent. This number uniquely identifies you and you must write this number onto the candidate details form. Once you have completed this form, the invigilator will check your photo-ID and collect up the forms. When the exam starts, you will fill in your answers on this sheet.

Often at the end of this first pass, you might only have spent 15-20 minutes and possibly answered 30-40% of the questions. If you don’t understand what it is asking you, read it one more time. Mark the answer sheet with your answers and your question paper to show you have answered the question. At the end of this pass you will only be left with those questions which take a long time to answer, or you are still not sure about. By a process of elimination, discount those options which you think are definitely wrong. Cross them out on the question booklet. If you do this, you can often eliminate 2 options straightaway which will leave you with 2 options left to choose from. Read the question and the 2 remaining options one more time and if you really cannot decide guess. It’s always better to skip these questions and answer them at the end Your initial response is often the correct one Also, statistics show that high-scorers in the Foundation exam will have a better chance at getting a high score in Practitioner, which is certainly something to keep in mind. Inform your trainer before the exam, and they may be able to organise extra time for you Do this preferably before the exam begins You will therefore know on the day if you have provisionally passed or failed. With PowerPoint, you can easily create slide shows. Trainers and other presenters use slide shows to illustrate their presentations. This lesson introduces you to the PowerPoint window. You use the window to interact with the software. To begin, open PowerPoint 2007. The window appears and your screen looks similar to the one shown here. Note: Your screen will probably not look exactly like the screen shown. In PowerPoint 2007, how a window displays depends on the size of the window, the size of your monitor, and the resolution to which your monitor is set. Resolution determines how much information your computer monitor can display. If you use a low resolution, less information fits on your screen, but the size of your text and images are larger. If you use a high resolution, more information fits on your screen, but the size of the text and images are smaller. Also, settings in PowerPoint 2007, Windows Vista, and Windows XP allow you to change the color and style of your windows. The Microsoft Office Button In the upper-left corner is the Microsoft Office button. When you click the button, a menu appears. You can use the menu to create a new file, open an existing file, save a file, and perform many other tasks. The Quick Access Toolbar Next to the Microsoft Office button is the Quick Access toolbar. The Quick Access toolbar provides you with access to commands you frequently use. By default, Save, Undo, and Redo appear on the Quick Access toolbar. You use Save to save your file, Undo to rollback an action you ha ve taken, and Redo to reapply an action you have rolled back. The Title Bar The Title bar is located at the top in the center of the PowerPoint window. The Title bar displays the name of the presentation on which you are currently working. By default, PowerPoint names presentations sequentially, starting with Presentation1. When you save your file, you can change the name of your presentation. The Ribbon You use commands to tell PowerPoint what to do.

If you do not wish to use the title slide, click the Delete Slide button in the Slides group on the Home tab. EXERCISE 1 Create a Title Slide Open PowerPoint. You are presented with a title slide. Enter the information shown here. Type College Scholarships and Financial Aid in the Click to Add Title text box. Type Paying for Collegein the Click to Add Subtitle text box. Create New Slides After completing your title slide, you can create additional slides. To create a new slide: Choose the Home tab. Click the New Slide button in the Slides group. The Office Theme dialog box appears and displays several layout templates. Click the layout you want. The layout appears in the Slide pane of the PowerPoint window. To add text, click inside the placeholder and type. To add an additional slide to your presentation, do one of the following: Right-click the slide layout. A menu appears. Click Layout and then click the layout you want. Choose the Home tab, click the New Slide button, and then choose the slide layout you want. This lesson teaches you how to create animations and transitions. It also teaches how to spell-check your document, how to use the Outline and Slides tabs, how to use Sorter view, and how to print. Add Animations You can animate the objects on your PowerPoint slides. PowerPoint provides four types of animations: Entrance, Emphasis, Exit, and Motion Paths. An Entrance animation determines the manner in which an object appears on a slide; for example, an object can move onto a slide. An Emphasis animation does something to draw attention to an object; for example, the object can become larger. An Exit animation determines the manner in which an object leaves a slide; for example, an object can move off a slide. A Motion Paths animation determines how an object moves around a slide; for example, an object can move from left to right. After you add an animation, you can use the Custom Animation pane to modify it by choosing an effect.

The Outline tab shows the text on your slides. The Slide pane is located in the center of your window. The Slide pane shows a large view of the slide on which you are currently working. The Notes area appears below the Slide pane. You can type notes to yourself on the Notes area. Slide Sorter View Slide Sorter view shows thumbnails of all your slides. In Slide Sorter view, you can easily add, delete, or change their order of your slides. When in Slide Show view: Esc Returns you to the view you were using previously Leftclicking Moves you to the next slide or animation effect. When you reach the last slide, you automatically return to your previous view. You can use this menu to navigate the slides, add speaker notes, select a pointer, and mark your presentation Zoom a llows you to zoom in and zoom out on the window. Zooming in makes the window larger so you focus in on an object. Zooming out makes the window smaller so you can see the entire window. You can click and drag the vertical and horizontal splitter bars to change the size of your panes. You use the Minimize button to remove a window from view. While a window is minimized, its title appears on the taskbar. You click the Maximize button to cause a window to fill the screen. After you maximize a window, clicking the Restore button returns the window to its former smaller size. You click the Close button to exit the window and close the program. Lesson 2: Creating Your First PowerPoint Presentation You create your PowerPoint presentation on slides. You use layouts to organize the content on each slide. PowerPoint has several slide layouts from which to choose. Themes are sets of colors, fonts, and special effects. Backgrounds add a colored background to your slides. You can add themes and backgrounds to your slides. After you complete your slides, you can run your presentation. Create a Title Slide When you start PowerPoint, PowerPoint displays the title slide in the Slide pane.

Transitions control how your presentation moves from one slide to the next. In this lesson you learn how to create animations and transitions. You also learn how to spell-check your document, how to use the Outline and Slides tabs, how to use Sorter view, and how to print. PowerPoint views Normal view Normal view is the main editing view, where you write and design your presentation. The thumbnails make it easy for you to navigate through your presentation and to see the effects of any design changes. Later, you can print your notes and refer to them when you give your presentation. You can also print notes to hand out to your audience or include the notes in a presentation that you send to the audience or post on a Web page. You can switch between the Slides and Outline tabs. The Slides and Outline tabs change to display symbols if the pane becomes too narrow. To change the display of the Outline tab or Slides tab. Slide Sorter view Slide Sorter view is a view of your slides in thumbnail form. Notes Page view You can type your notes in the Notes pane, which is located just below the Slide pane in Normal view. However, if you want to view and work with your notes in full 5 page format, on the View tab, in the Presentation Views group, click Notes Page. Slide Show view Slide Show view takes up the full computer screen, like an actual presentation. In this view, you see your presentation the way your audience will. You can see how your graphics, timings, movies, animated (animate: To add a special visual or sound effect to text or an object. For example, you can have your text bullet points fly in from the left, one word at a time, or hear the sound of applause when a picture is uncovered.) effects, and transition effects will look during the actual presentation. To select multiple nonsequential slides, hold down CTRL while you click each slide that you want to select.

Choosing an effect enables you to define what starts the animation, its properties (such the direction from which an object moves onto the slide), and control the speed of the animation. In addition, you can have an animation start when you click the mouse, start along with the previous animation, or start at a specified time after the previous animation. If the Auto Preview box is checked on the Custom Animation pane, PowerPoint provides you with preview of your animation after you create it and each time you modify it. You can also use the Play button on the Custom Animation pane to preview an animation. You do not have to register for expensive classes and travel from one part of town to another to take classes.
